LEED Standards Getting Tougher On Energy Reporting

The highlights:

  1. New version of Green Building Standard for LEED Certification
  2. Owners must now annually submit how much energy and water is used, or will require recertification every 2 years
  3. Could increase demand for energy related technologies for buildings
  4. Designed to help improve future versions of LEED certification
  5. Hoping that the push will keep owners more aware of how much energy they use and try to use less
  6. States may also require energy reporting information in the future
