LEED Standards Getting Tougher On Energy Reporting

The highlights:
- New version of Green Building Standard for LEED Certification
- Owners must now annually submit how much energy and water is used, or will require recertification every 2 years
- Could increase demand for energy related technologies for buildings
- Designed to help improve future versions of LEED certification
- Hoping that the push will keep owners more aware of how much energy they use and try to use less
- States may also require energy reporting information in the future
